Building Brigades

The Army has begun reorganizing into 43 brigade combat teams. The Army anticipates 19 of these brigades will be heavy armor units, with M1A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley troop carriers; 18 will be light infantry units; and six will be medium-weight units with wheeled Stryker combat vehicles. They will have a standard design, which includes the following major elements:
