1997 Top 200 Contractors
Rankings are based on earnings during fiscal 1996, which ended on September 30, 1996. Mergers and acquisitions are not generally reflected in the listings unless they became final before fiscal 1996 ended.
The data covers only prime contracts worth more than $25,000, which added up to $178 billion for fiscal 1996.
Companies ranked in these tables are parent companies; outlays to subsidiaries or divisions are "rolled up" to the parent. For joint ventures, Government Executive has assigned each partner in the venture and equal portion of payments made under the contract.
