The Telltale Signs

hen one or more of the following occurs, it may indicate a personal problem has begun to interfere with an employee's performance.

  • Frequent and unexplained absences/tardiness
  • Change in behavior on the job
  • Decline in work performance/lack of concentration
  • Missed deadlines, accidents or mistakes
  • Change in character, attitude or appearance
  • Increase in interpersonal problems with other employees
  • On-the-job drinking and/or drug use
  • Isolation/withdrawing from co-workers
  • Increased physical complaints and/or health problems
  • Theft
