IT modernization in the federal government has been covered extensively — the government-wide 'cloud first' policy, FITARA scores, and the American Technology Council's recent White House report are centerpieces of technology coverage. Still, some of the most exciting developments are happening at the state and local levels: migration away from legacy solutions, a growing implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and the push for cloud-based services are just a few examples.  

To learn more about the ongoing progress and challenges that state and local organizations are facing during their technological transformations, Government Business Council, Lenovo, and Intel launched a survey-based research study in September 2017.
