Federal Data Collaboration: Fact or Fantasy?

A discussion with federal leaders about the challenges and promise of federal data sharing

Federal agencies have long been protective of their data, and for good reason. Data falling into the wrong hands could have serious consequences. Conversely, federal agencies have much to gain by sharing necessary data with each other. Even with the Federal Data Strategy in place, there are still questions around when and how siloed data can and should be shared across agencies. Federal agencies are largely left to determine for themselves the appropriate balance between sharing and protecting data. To better understand the culture around federal data sharing as well as the challenges and benefits behind federal data collaboration, the Government Business Council partnered with Snowflake to interview experts from the federal government.
