There is no shortage of challenges facing local government. Tight budgets and staff limitations force public sector officials to make difficult decisions among the significant array of obstacles and competing priorities they face every day. 

When forced to decide, local government officials consistently prioritized core government operations and services as the most vital to future success in their jurisdiction. Conversely, social programs and citizen-facing services / engagement were ranked relatively lower by individuals taking the Route Fifty / GBC survey.
