Lessons Learned in Federal Cloud Adoption

It's been four years since Cloud First, yet federal cloud progress isn't as far as expected. GBC asked early adopters what they think about their agency's adoption efforts in the past, present, and future, and what other agencies can do to overcome obstacles along the way.

Four years after Cloud First, the level of cloud adoption varies widely across the federal government. Recent reports from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reveal major disparities in progress even across some of the largest agencies. As the federal government looks to advance cloud efforts, it can take heed of lessons learned from leaders serving in agencies that have already begun implementing cloud technologies.
