Small Business Administration launches e-gov project

Officials at the Small Business Administration on Wednesday unveiled a new e-government tool created to help small- and medium-sized business learn and comply with newly enacted laws and regulations. Part of the Bush administration's e-government strategy, businesslaw.gov is an Internet portal that offers small businesses a one-stop shop for learning about and complying with new regulations from federal, state and local governments. SBA officials on Wednesday joined Mark Forman, the associate director for technology and e-government at the Office of Management and Budget, in a press conference to launch the initiative. In October, OMB announced 22 technology projects it will fund over the next three years to maximize efficiency and improve customer service to citizens and businesses. The e-government initiative is part of the President's five-point management agenda.
