President Donald Trump met with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar last week and Varadkar presented Trump with a shamrock bowl. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the gift, saying Trump was disappointed it wasn't a Shamrock Shake.
Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson last week and the weekend late-night shows joked about the news. Fox News' Greg Gutfeld noted that Tillerson "had the voice of Sam Elliott and the sturdy body of John Goodman," while Saturday Night Live's Michael Che noted Tillerson's resemblance to the Muppets' Sam the Eagle. Last Week Tonight's John Oliver noted the news late last week that Tillerson got the call that he was being replaced while on the toilet, joking that "deep down" Tillerson "knew it would end like this" when he took the job.
