Play of the Day: Rex Tillerson and Russian Election Meddling
The State Department chief has an interesting attitude about election hacking by other world powers.
The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics began last week, with the opening ceremonies and parade of nations held on Friday. The Tonight Show put together a video of host Jimmy Fallon's impression of President Donald Trump mispronouncing and translating the various nations that marched including Kardashian (Kazakhstan) and Luxury Bird (Luxembourg).
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson appeared on Fox News last week to talk about potential Russian election meddling in the 2018 midterms. Tillerson said "If it’s their intention to interfere, they’re going to find ways to do that," prompting late-night hots to joke about his seeming laissez-faire attitude about it. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that Tillerson's Texas drawl makes it doubly weird, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert produced a new version of the Gadsen flag with the motto that better reflects Tillerson's attitude: "I prefer you not tread on me but if you do it, it's very difficult to preempt it."
