Play of the Day: Ivanka Praises the Tax Plan
The GOP's tax plan passed and the first family is touting it.
In selling the recently passed Republican tax plan this fall, President Donald Trump said that the plan would be "rocket fuel" for the engine of the American economy. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the quote recently, saying when you "pour rocket fuel into a regular engine, you know it ruins the engine."
The Trump family has been touting the tax plan since its passage, with the president's daughter Ivanka appearing on television and using social media to sing its praises. Her Fox News appearance comparing the business tax rates to those in 1931 prompted The Rundown's Robin Thede to note that 1931 was during the Great Depression. The president retweeted his daughter's tweet recently on the tax bill's affect on business, prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to joke about the president's relationship with his other children.
