Play of the Day: Trump Learns About Puerto Rico

After President Donald Trump tweeted more than a dozen times about the NFL and NBA over the weekend, some accused the president of being preoccupied with the sports leagues. Trump knocked down that claim on Tuesday, saying he he was not and "I have plenty of time on my hands. All I do is work." Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the quote, noting the contradiction and saying he can't decide which is scarier: Trump being busy or having a lot of time on his hands.

Trump spoke about the post-Maria humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, noting that the island is "sitting in the middle of an ocean. And it’s a big ocean; it’s a very big ocean." The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the quote, saying Trump sounds like he "forgot about a class presentation," while Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that Trump just learned that Rhode Island isn't an island. Colbert joked about the comments also, suggesting Trump has just learned about the wetness of oceans, as well as the salinity of sea water.
