Play of the Day: Trump Meets Merkel
There was less handshaking than you might imagine when the U.S. and German leaders met on Friday.
Last week, Rachel Maddow of MSNBC revealed a 2005 tax return of President Donald Trump's on her TV show, but it had underwhelming news value since it showed the president paid tens of millions in taxes and showed nothing incriminating about Trump. Fox News' Greg Gufteld joked about the "stunt," saying "even Geraldo was like 'Whoa, glad I'm not her.'"
Trump met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday in Washington, but Trump did not shake her hand. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked Trump's relations with Europe, while Last Week Tonight's John Oliver joked that this was the first time anyone asked Trump to touch a woman.
