Play of the Day: Paul Manafort's Russian Ties and Donald Trump

The accusations about the president's former campaign manager intensified this week.

Mick Mulvaney, the head of the Office of Management and Budget, made the media rounds late last week calling President Donald Trump's budget plan a "hard power budget." Full Frontal's Samantha Bee joked that she thought those three words sounded more like the names of workout enthusiast Paul Ryan's kids.

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort is becoming more of a focus of the Senate investigation into Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election. Manafort was employed by an ally of Vladimir Putin to further Putin's interests, which prompted Desus and Mero to joked that Putin recommended Manafort to Trump to run the campaign. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Kimmel joked that Manafort's $10 million salary was less that Putin's camp was paying Trump, while Jimmy Kimmel tried to imagine what Trump's Twitter storm would look like if a prominent Democratic politician was in the same situation. It would probably involve a lot of emojis and fury, Kimmel joked on Wednesday.
