Play of the Day: Maybe Trump's Budget Should Spare PBS
Jimmy Kimmel thinks the president could learn from some of the shows.
President Donald Trump's second attempt travel ban was temporarily blocked this week by a federal judge in Hawaii. Thursday night, The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about Trump's potential new tries at the ban and his continued use of the term "Muslim ban."
Trump's budget blueprint was released Thursday and it contains severe cuts or the elimination of programs like the National Endowment for the Arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting -- which co-produced Sesame Street -- and block grants for Meals on Wheels. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the cuts, saying Trump cutting Meals on Wheels means his heart is smaller than his hands, while Jimmy Kimmel compared the Meals on Wheels costs to Trump's trips to Mar-a-Lago. Kimmel also suggested that Trump might want to watch Sesame Street in lieu of cutting funding for it, so he could learn about spelling and the importance of telling the truth. Come to think of it, maybe he can bring back Schoolhouse Rock also and learn about how government works.
