Play of the Day: Donald Trump's Inconsistent Twitter Priorities
A president can worry about more than one thing at once, but should Arnold Schwarzenegger be something with which Donald Trump concerns himself?
Last week, Attorney General Jeff Sessions found himself embroiled in controversy over statements he made about a meeting he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak while Sessions was a part of President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Last Week Tonight's John Oliver joked about Sessions' civil rights record, saying he is the result of a tryst between Dobby the House Elf and a Confederate Flag, while Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost joked about the Russia controversy usurping Session's previous Google autofill: "Sessions racist."
Trump enflamed yet another controversy on Twitter over the weekend by claiming that his predecessor Barack Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign. Oliver joked that the claims steal Americans' joy of making fun of Trump misspelling "tap" with two Ps, while Saturday Night Live's Michael Che mocked the president about Trump's subsequent tweets about Arnold Schwarzenegger leaving The Celebrity Apprentice and ratings for the show. After all, as Che said, Trump is executive producer of the free world and his ratings are dead last.
