Play of the Day: Trump is Signing Executive Orders… With a Certain Style

The leather-bound documents are on-brand and his presentation of them is top-notch.

Last week, president Donald Trump's administration floated a 20% import tax on goods coming from Mexico as a funding source for the border wall. In response, bar owners' son Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., tweeted "Simply put, any policy proposal which drives up costs of Corona, tequila, or margaritas is a big-time bad idea. Mucho Sad." The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about Graham's tweet and suggested some more booze-based messages from the South Carolinian.

Trump's spent much of the first week of his administration making good on his campaign promises, mostly via executive orders. Ever the showman, Trump's signing ceremonies have involved leather-bound documents that he holds up for cameras, prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to say Trump reads and holds them up like a parent reading a book to a kid and Real Time's Bill Maher to note the leather being on-brand for Trump. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that Trump's presentation of the orders look like a "bully in class in book report day who obviously didn't read the book," while Fallon joked about Trump's sighing when he signs some of them.
