Play of the Day: Michelle Obama's Inauguration Facial Expressions Were America's Barometer
The former First Lady seemed unenthusiastic about the entire event.
President Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States on Friday and the weekend late-night shows were all over it. As part of the festivities, Trump held a concert lacking in star power on Thursday night at the Lincoln Memorial. Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost joked that the event was "the second-worst live performance Lincoln has ever attended."
A lot of attention on social media was paid to Michelle Obama's reactions to the events at the inauguration. Late Show's Stephen Colbert blamed the bad weather on "Michelle Obama throwing so much shade," while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted the emotions during the gift ceremony between her and First Lady Melania Trump and suggested Michelle Obama's face was a barometer for America's feelings.
