Play of the Day: Tim Kaine's Got (Bad) Jokes
Hillary Clinton's running mate may have prepared too much for the vice presidential debate.
The vice presidential debate was held Tuesday night in Virginia and late-night shows went live to talk about it. Mike Pence and Tim Kaine remain unknown to a large percentage of voters going into the debate, so Late Night's Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien, Late Show's Stephen Colbert and The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about their boring white guy credentials (mayonnaise and white bread were mentioned). The Daily Show's Trevor Noah even joked that the debate went all the way up to "step-dad vs. real dead" on the white guy argument meter.
Noah also joked about Kaine's awkward jokes and insult lines toward the Trump/Pence ticket, like Kaine's mocking Trump's "You're fired" line from The Apprentice. Noah joked that the jokes would be on Kaine's new suburban dad-style standup comedy web site, timkaineinthemembrane.com.
