Play of the Day: The Debate Was All About Puppets and Cliffhangers

The election increasingly resembles a TV show.

The third and final presidential debate was held Wednesday night in Las Vegas and Hillary Clinton was dressed for the occasion. The Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Clinton looked like "Star Trek Deep Space Pope," while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about the fashion police.

One of the highlights of the debate came when Clinton and Donald Trump had an exchange about who's more of a puppet, so Colbert brought out actual sock puppets to fight one another, while Noah tied the term to the infamous Access Hollywood tape. Another shocking moment in the debate came when Trump was asked if he would accept the outcome of the election if he loses and the GOP nominee said "I will keep you in suspense." Colbert joked that the election is not a TV show with cliffhangers, while Noah noted that Trump's running his campaign like an episode of ABC prime time soap Scandal… only without the powerful women and black people.
