Play of the Day: The Final Blows of the Cruz Campaign

An awkward hug with a right elbow cross defined the Texan's final speech of his 2016 White House bid.

John Kasich dropped out of the GOP nomination race Tuesday, leaving Donald Trump as the presumptive nominee. Conan O'Brien and Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about Kasich's performance in the race, mocking his relative anonymity and his low poll numbers.

Ted Cruz dropped out of the race Tuesday night, but all anyone talked about was the awkward hug his family had on stage after his speech. The Nightly Show's Larry Wilmore joked about the "war on women" concept, while Meyers said "stop Trump failed, but good news: stop Heidi is full steam ahead." Jimmy Kimmel broke down the blows like a boxing analyst, while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon referenced the great Twitter joke of 2016.
