Play of the Day: Saturday Night Live Lampoons the Democratic Debate
Larry David plays Sanders as an everyman who only has one pair of underwear.
Lincoln Chafee's best moment at last week's Democratic debate was when he claimed he was scandal-free in over thirty years of public service. It turns out, a few news organizations unearthed a minor scandal for Chafee, as he used taxpayer money to buy pet frogs for his office while mayor of Warwick, Rhode Island. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon jumped on the newsto joke about Chafee's personality.
Saturday Night Live got to mock last week's debate on both Weekend Update and in its cold open. The former included Bernie Sanders doppleganger Larry David playing the Vermont Senator and yelling at the camera about his single pair of underwear, while Weekend Update joked about the Vegas odds of Sanders, Jim Webb, Martin O'Malley and Chafee to be president.
