Play of the Day: Texas is Not Under Martial Law
Jon Stewart clarifies the reality of the federal republic system.
Former president Bill Clinton's wife Hillary is running for the office herself, but that doesn't mean Bill will step out of the spotlight. He told the Today show this week that he'll continue to make hundreds of thousands of dollars at speaking events to pay the bills. Explaining the comment, both Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon joked about Clinton's famous ego and libido.
Many Texans have noted military exercises being run in the state, causing some to believe the federal government is looking to impose martial law. Governor Greg Abbott even brought in the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise. The Daily Show's Jon Stewart put the idea of Texas defending itself against the United States military power in context, comparing the David and Goliath nature of such a fight.
