With an unspecified but serious threat to Americans worldwide, the government closed several embassies across Maghreb and Middle East this week. The news made Stephen Colbert yearn for better days, when Homeland Security used a color-coded system for threat levels. The Tonight Show’s Jay Leno also mentioned the news, comparing the shut-down facilities to the United States legislature’s inactivity.
President Barack Obama turned 52 years old Sunday, marking the occasion with friends and family. Leno joked that National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden ruined a surprise party, Conan O’Brien mentioned Michelle Obama’s campaign for healthy eating and Late Night’s Jimmy Fallon joked about Obama voter demographics.
Fast forward to 3:25 to see Fallon run a video piece of Obama and a co-worker celebrating.
