President Barack Obama is in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland for the 2013 G8 summit this week , giving Late Show host David Letterman opportunity to wonder why there still isn’t a universal electrical plug for household appliances. Obama’s trip also found its way into The Tonight Show ’s Jay Leno’s monologue, with Leno questioning the security procedures for Vice President Joe Biden.

Overseas, Iran held elections this month to replace term-limited Mahmoud Ahmadinejad . The Iranian leader has been a late-night joke staple in his time in power, and Letterman was quick to make fun of his name once again. Letterman also noted the political culture of Iran, showing a short video on the moderation of the nation’s president-elect. The Daily Show ’s John Oliver noted the idea of term limits in Iran, comparing Ahmadinejad’s power to that of New York’s Michael Bloomberg.

Fast forward to 3:00 to see Dick Cheney tell it like it is.
