NBC
With the sequester officially going into effect Friday evening, Saturday Night Live brought out Jay Pharoah’s impression of Barack Obama for its cold open. The segment gave the show the ability to bring out "federal workers" of all stripes, including National Zoo staff and the ever-present USDA meat inspector. Later in the show, John Boehner’s role in the sequester garnered a mention on Weekend Update segment.
Friday, Jay Leno tilled the ever-fertile ground of Congressional members not doing math well, while Jimmy Fallon took House Speaker John Boehner’s “get off their ass” comment and extrapolated it into a war of words between Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Fast forward to 3:40 to see Fallon go blow-by-blow on the conflict.
