D.C. is Hollywood for ugly people, blah blah blah. We've all heard that saying before. And now GQ is trying to play the part of fashion savior by forcing its style norms upon Washington, or as I like to call it, Hollywood for smart people.
Eight male staffers, speechwriters and lawyers got the GQ "Project Upgrade" makeover treatment in the magazine's November issue. And one of these guys is dreamboat Max Engling. (He's officially been designated as a dreamboat by The Hill's 50 most beautiful people on the Hill 2012 list.).
We've previously looked at Engling's work on the Congressional Summer Intern Lecture Series, which has become one of the most popular events for interns, and high-profile speakers, on the Hill. It's hard work having to "balance chamber, party, and branch of government in his selection of speakers, all the while finding times and gathering spaces that are convenient to the legions of interns who attend."
But now GQ has the man in tight tweed pants and jacket. We're sorry, purveyors of fashion, but sometimes a man who's working hard on the Hill needs to have the flexibility that loose slacks and jackets provide.
