OMB confirms Thursday budget rollout

White House will release the details of funding requests for agencies.

The Office of Management and Budget plans to unveil its fiscal 2010 budget details on Thursday, supplying congressional appropriators with specific requests for funding.

"We will fill in the details below the agency-by-agency topline numbers on the roughly 40 percent of the budget this coming fiscal year that will be decided upon in the appropriations process," OMB Director Peter Orszag said on the agency's Web site.

The White House budget office will also release a separate volume on terminations, reductions and savings to highlight the programs they plan to eliminate or scale back. Next week, OMB is scheduled to release its analytical perspectives volume, including historical and summary tables, updating budget data already released with the budget outline in February. OMB said it decided to split up the releases "to make it easier for the public and Capitol Hill to digest these thousands of pages."

Senate appropriators said they expect a briefing on Wednesday.
