Washington Agencies to Open Friday on Regular Schedule

Employees have the option to take unscheduled leave or telework.

Federal agencies in the Washington area will be open on Friday under a regular schedule, but employees have the option of taking unscheduled leave or telework, the Office of Personnel Management announced Thursday evening.

One week after the onset of a historic snowstorm, its effects continued to be felt in and around the nation's capital. Road crews continued to work to fully open streets, and public transit systems slowly moved to resume normal service.

"Non-emergency employees must notify their supervisor of their intent to use unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework (if telework-ready)," OPM said in its announcement.
