Washington agencies open with unscheduled leave

Snow falls during morning commute.

With snow falling Thursday morning, the Office of Personnel Management announced that federal agencies in the Washington area would remain open, with the option for employees to take unscheduled leave or telework.

Non-emergency employees must notify their supervisor of their intent to use unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework, OPM said. Also, employees who are regularly scheduled to perform telework or who notify their supervisors that they intend to perform unscheduled telework must be prepared to telework for the entire workday, take unscheduled leave, or a combination of both.
