The deadline for applications to the Presidential Management Fellows program has been extended to Nov. 26, according to an announcement on the program’s website.
The Office of Personnel Management extended the deadline by about one week to “accommodate applicants who may have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.” The program’s application opened Nov. 5, and will now close Monday, Nov. 26 at 11:59 p.m.
The Presidential Management Fellows program was revamped this past May to better attract talented students and recent graduates. In congressional testimony in September, OPM Director John Berry said the program was part of a strategy to increase the number of young people working in the federal government and an effort to address the coming wave of federal retirements.
