All U.S. official personnel withdrawn from Benghazi

Move described as temporary.

All official American government personnel have been withdrawn from Benghazi, Libya, according to U.S. officials and local residents, the The Washington Post reports. Militants attacked the U.S. consulate in the city last month, resulting in the deaths of four Americans.

The pullout is described as temporary and, in the meantime, U.S. diplomatic outreach in Benghazi will be done remotely, a State Department spokesperson told The Post.
