Clinton sets secretary of State travel record

Saul Loeb/AP

When Hillary Clinton’s plane touched down in Helsinki in late June, she accomplished something no previous secretary of State ever has.

Finland was the 99th country Clinton had visited as the nation’s top diplomat, breaking the previous record of 98 held by Madeline Albright, according to the Associated Press.

In her latest two-week, nine-nation trip, Clinton made stops in Laos and Mongolia, bringing the secretary’s visit total past the century mark.

Clinton has traveled for 351 days throughout her tenure, amassing 843,839 miles in the air, according to AP, although these totals are not records.

All this travel may have taken its toll, as Clinton insists she will step down from her post if President Obama is reelected.
