Lineup on House government oversight subcommittees finalized

Illinois member will lead the panel focusing on the federal workforce and New York representative will head management and procurement panel.

House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., on Wednesday announced the membership roster for his panel's five subcommittees and their chairmen.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, will lead the Domestic Policy Subcommittee; Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., will be chairman of the Federal Workforce Subcommittee; Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., will head the Government Management, Organization and Procurement Subcommittee; Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., will take over the Information Policy Subcommittee; and Rep. John Tierney, D-Mass., will lead the National Security and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee.

Waxman eliminated the Energy and Resources and the Regulatory Affairs subcommittees in December, which he said was done "so that the jurisdiction of each subcommittee will have broad appeal and will engage the attention of the subcommittee members."
