Will the Sequester Happen or Not?
President Obama was very clear about the looming budget debacle in the final presidential debate last night: "The sequester is not something I proposed. It's something Congress has proposed. It will not happen."
But maybe he wasn't so clear. After the debate, in comments to reporters, David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager and senior adviser, seemed to walked back the president's declaration. "No one wants it to happen," he said of the dreaded sequestration, according to a Politico report.
“Listen, you talk to Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill," he added. "No one thinks it should happen."
