Davis announces Government Reform subcommittee chairs

House Government Reform Committee Chairman Tom Davis, R-Va., on Friday announced the list of lawmakers he has appointed to chair his subcommittees.

Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Fla., has been selected to chair the Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and the Census panel. Rep. Christopher Shays will head the National Security, Emerging Threats and International Relations Subcommittee. Rep. Jo Ann Davis, R-Va., will chair the Civil Service and Agency Organizations Subcommittee. And Todd Platts, R-Pa., was named as chairman of the Government Efficiency and Financial Management panel.

In separate committee assignments, Rep. Adam Smith, a Washington Democrat and co-chair of the New Democrat Coalition, was named a member of the House International Relations Committee. He also will remain a member of House Armed Services.
