  • Securities and Exchange Commission

All employees with the EEOC, ATF, OSHA, Foreign Commercial Service, Secret Service, Export-Import Bank, and Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration were successfully evacuated and are unharmed, according to spokesmen with the agencies.

Officials at the Securities and Exchange Commission say they are "reasonably confident" that all of that agency's more than 300 employees were safely evacuated Tuesday. The Customs Service is still trying to account for a few employees, according to a spokeswoman. The Defense Department had a satellite office of the Defense Investigative Service in Building No. 7; the office was empty on Tuesday.
