Merger creates federal consulting giant

Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand merged Wednesday, creating a federal consulting giant with business across a wide variety of government operations.
With more than $15 billion in annual revenue and 140,000 employees worldwide, the new company, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), is the world's largest professional services firm. The company's government practice will be based in Washington and employ more than 2,500 people in the national capital area.
Joe Kehoe, previously the managing partner of Coopers & Lybrand's government consulting practice, has been appointed managing partner for PwC's government group.
The company's consulting services include quality management, strategic planning, activity-based costing, reengineering, human resources management, information technology, systems integration and auditing.
