Gingrich touts increased defense spending

After a tour Friday of a high tech Army lab and virtual reality battlefield at Fort Benning in Georgia, House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., said more money needs to go into defense and the size of the Army needs to be increased, the Associated Press reported.

Gingrich also said Americans should always be better equipped and trained than competitors and that technology like the virtual reality battlefield "will pay off five and 10 years from now, when young men and women find themselves in danger and have technologies that nobody else in the world has."
