President Clinton, saying "individuals should not be denied a job on the basis of something that has no relationship to their ability to perform their work," signed an executive order Thursday to protect homosexual federal workers from job discrimination.

The order, Executive Order 13087, prohibits discrimination based on "sexual orientation."
