Congress Highlights Results Act

The House Government Reform and Oversight Committee Thursday turns its attention to the Government Performance and Results Act, which requires federal agencies to set goals, draw up a strategy for achieving the goals, and then achieve them.

Congress has received the plans from the administration, and the plans are being reviewed by committee staff, according to a committee aide.

At Thursday's hearing, House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, who has vowed to ensure that the agencies stick to their plans, will testify, as will Maurice McTigue, who oversaw a similar program in New Zealand.
