Smoking Ban Pushed

A group of anti-tobacco legislators today called on President Clinton to immediately ban smoking in all government buildings, a move they say would protect 2.7 million federal employees from secondhand smoke, the Associated Press reported.

"It is critical to free federal employees and those who visit federal buildings from this health risk," said Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., and others in the letter they sent to Clinton.
