THE FEDERAL DIARY--"OPM has now given approval for agencies employing most of the nonpostal federal work force to offer their employees early retirement." AND..."The White House has decided to give 1997 locality pay raises to members of the SES, administrative law judges and many others in top pay categories" (The Washington Post).
