FDIC Posts Bank Info on Web

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. is now providing a wide range of information about nearly 12,000 federally insured banks and thrifts online.

On the FDIC's new Institution Directory service, users can search by asset or deposit size, institution name or certificate number, state, charter type, primary regulator, or primary insurance fund. Information available includes statistics of income and expenses, key ratios of profitability, contact and address information, and more.
