Obama and Clinton to Sit for First Joint Interview

The former rivals will sit together for "60 Minutes" interview.

Consider the hatchet buried.

President Obama and outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be sitting down this afternoon for a joint interview with “60 Minutes” to air on Sunday. The news broke on Twitter via Politico’s Mike Allen, who noted that this would mark the first time Obama has done a sit-down with anyone besides his wife, Michelle Obama:

Obama and Clinton battled fiercely in the hotly contested 2008 Democratic Primary. Since then, the former rivals have worked closely together with Clinton serving under Obama as a very high profile, and historically well-traveled, Secretary of State. Look to the interview to be an example of what’s possible when two leaders set aside egos to work together.

The interview concludes a very busy week for Clinton, coming just days after her testimony before Congress regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya.
