Six U.S. soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan on Sunday, the Associated Press reported.

A NATO spokesman on Monday identified the nationalities of the soldiers, but said he could not give further details on the incident because the matter was still being investigated, according to AP. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing.

In addition to the six U.S. soldiers, bombs and attacks killed 16 Afghan civilians, five policemen and two members of the U.S.-led coalition on Sunday, according to NBC News.
