Acquisition award finalists announced

The 13 finalists for the 2001 Business Solutions in the Public Interest awards have been announced.

The awards, administered by the Council for Excellence in Government and Government Executive in collaboration with the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, honor federal acquisition teams and agency leaders who have used acquisition effectively and creatively to help achieve their missions.

On May 17, each finalist team will make a brief presentation before the awards' selection panel, which will then choose a set of winners. The winners will be honored at a reception in September.

The Business Solutions in the Public Interest awards are designed to showcase the emergence of acquisition as a strategic business tool for government leaders. The awards also recognize the importance of partnerships between agency staff and leadership in managing acquisitions.
