Across the public sector, agencies are grappling with major initiatives aimed at improving the performance and security of their IT operations, delivering new capabilities to their missions and improving citizen services.

Despite clear mandates, and perhaps even increased funding, many agencies are struggling to achieve their objectives. The problem is that agencies lack adequate insight into their operations, making it difficult to understand their existing environments and improve their cyber posture

This event will bring together executive leadership from federal, state, and local government to discuss best practices and emerging strategies for gaining enterprise visibility and leveraging data to drive IT modernization that connects services and citizens.

Here's what was covered at the first event in the Data Driven Government Series. If you're interested in attending more events in the program series, click here.

Keynote: Building the Intelligent Enterprise

Modernization means more than upgrading or replacing outdated systems. It means developing an enterprise that is adaptive and intelligent, capable of evolving as requirements evolve. Government agencies have long recognized the value of collecting and analyzing data to get insights into their operations and services. But traditionally such efforts have delivered limited results, constrained by the volume of data collected and the quality of tools used. This keynote presentation will explore the concept of the smart and connected enterprises and how agencies manage, secure, and deliver IT operations. It will also explore technologies and strategies that are expanding the art of the possible and laying the foundation for the next generation of the intelligent enterprise.

  • The Honorable Donna Lynne:  Lieutenant Governor, State of Colorado

Fireside Chat – IT Modernization and Innovation

As agencies modernize their IT infrastructure, they are looking to leverage a new class of data-driven technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, that makes it possible to develop innovative solutions to their most challenging problems—from automating data center operations to delivering better citizen services and creating smart cities. This fireside chat will discuss digital transformation in the public sector and the key issues that agencies should address as they move toward data-driven government.

Panel: Innovation and the Cyber Imperative

The government enterprise is changing. Cloud, mobility, IoT and other technologies make it possible to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing services and to extend new services both to employees and the public. But this innovation comes with a cost: The increased complexity of the enterprise makes it more difficult to track network visibility, identify vulnerabilities and respond with speed to potential threats. This panel will look at how agencies can leverage it to improve their cybersecurity posture.
