From Policy to Practice: Operationalizing Zero Trust for the Federal Government in the Age of AI

A new survey of 275 federal civilian and defense IT and security leaders,  conducted by Market Connections and GovExec, finds near-universal agreement that AI must be governed like any other identity within Zero Trust. Yet a widening gap separates that intent from reality: only 11% have fully integrated AI into their Zero Trust architecture, just 24% have real visibility into API-based AI interactions, and only 13% enforce security policy consistently across AI agents, apps, endpoints, cloud, and SaaS.
