GovExec Daily: The State of the Postal Service

Eric Katz joins the podcast to discuss the future and funding of USPS in the time of the pandemic.

The United States Postal Service is one of the more popular functions of government. USPS posted a 90% approval rating in a recent Pew Research poll, edging out even NASA. But USPS has its detractors, including the president of the United States. Donald Trump has called the postal service a "delivery boy" for online retail giant Amazon and some allies of the White House have even called for a full privatization of USPS.

USPS says it is facing another financial shortfall due to the economic hardship of the coronavirus pandemic and will need a cash infusion. GovExec's Eric Katz joined GovExec Daily to discuss the future of the Postal Service, its funding and the way it is dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.
